ASGSF Funding Update

Please see below the newsflash from the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund regarding continuing funding.

This now means that whilst this split funded applications continuing beyond March 2026 (for a maximum of 12 months of therapy) up to the current funding fair access limit can be submitted. However we are still waiting for further updates regarding funding for applications from April 2026 onwards. Further updates are due to be issued later on in the Autumn.

Supporting Families: ASGSF Applications Now Open for 2026/27

Dear Colleagues,

Family security remains a key priority for this government as part of its commitment to removing barriers to opportunity.

Following the Written Ministerial Statement on 4 September, we’re pleased to confirm that the ASGSF is now accepting applications for services extending into the 2026/27 financial year. This means applications can once again be submitted for services lasting up to 12 months, offering greater flexibility for children and families planning longer-term support. Applications will continue to be assessed against the existing published criteria. The application portal has been updated to enable processing.

The Written Ministerial Statement also confirmed that the ASGSF will continue next financial year. This will be on a national basis as at present. Further details will be set out later this autumn and at that point we will confirm when applications beginning from April 2026 can be made.

We understand the importance of clear and timely communication, and we’ve taken on board the lessons from last year’s delayed announcement."
